Within the structure and order of a military school, wayward teen boys turn into respectful, confident leaders and responsible citizens. Heartland Boys Academy in Western Kentucky is not a military school, but it has a very disciplined program made more exciting for troubled boys due to it being an adventure-based Christian boarding school. It is an early intervention school whose mission is to lead struggling teens to realize their individual purpose, or destiny, in Christ.
Teens attend Heartland Boys Academy from around the country, including from Bend, Oregon. Parents often find it constructive to spend time in a new environment separated from their boy’s negative peers.
Adventure-Based Academy, With a Heart
Heartland Boys Academy in Western Kentucky also has a lot of discipline, but it is mainly an adventure-based unlike any other. We include an accredited school and the kind of adventure boys love, a strong spiritual emphasis, and hands-on vocational training. All of these are meant to bring about new interests and hope, to change in a boy’s heart and life.
Spiritual life is also the cornerstone aspect of Heartland Boys Academy. We are dedicated to introducing every student to his Maker. Many teenagers who attend have rebelled against their spiritual heritage or have never professed any faith. This program offers a safe place for them to take ownership of their faith, as they may never have done before.
Leadership Training
Heartland Boys Academy exclusively works with troubled or at-risk boys. In addition to helping capable students get back on track academically, we offer specific leadership training to unlock the potential in each teenager. We teach teens to serve and love others. Community service projects and real jobs provide real-life experience and application of the leadership principles learned at Heartland.
Academics
Boys who attend Heartland Boys Academy go to a fully accredited high school that uses a model of classroom and independent study. Students complete courses, with weekly goals set by teaching staff based on the student’s chosen course work. Courses are offered for all levels, up to Honors and AP classes. Heartland also supports students to work toward post-secondary goals by offering assistance with SAT and ACT testing and applying for colleges.
Our Positive Culture
The caring staff here at Heartland Boys Academy knows that teenagers and their parents today face huge challenges from the culture. Teens are assaulted by a barrage of negative peer pressure. The Heartland model for change is called Positive Peer Culture (PPC), which asserts that teens can learn self-worth, significance, dignity, and responsibility only as they devote themselves to the positive values of helping and caring for others.
Many boys in our military school program turn from their self-destructive behavior to a life of serving others. If your teenager needs order and discipline to change his direction, please consider Heartland.
Athletics at Heartland Boys Academy contribute to leadership development and character maturation as part of a holistic approach to development. Every student is encouraged to participate in at least one sport because of the important values that can be gained. Heartland Boys Academy offers a number of athletic outlets.
