Heartland Boys Academy in Western Kentucky is not a military school, but it has a very disciplined program made more exciting for troubled boys due to it being an adventure-based Christian boarding school. It is an early intervention school whose mission is to lead struggling teens to realize their individual purpose, or destiny, in Christ.

Adventure-Based Academy, With a Heart
Heartland Boys Academy in Western Kentucky also has a lot of discipline, but it is mainly an adventure-based boarding school like no other. We are a military academy, an accredited school, as well as a working ranch and farm offering competitive team sports, a spiritual emphasis, and hands-on vocational training. All of these are designed to bring about new interests and hope, to change in a boy’s heart and life.
Spiritual life is also the foundational characteristic of Heartland Boys Academy. We are dedicated to introducing every teen to his Maker. Many teenagers who attend have rebelled against their spiritual heritage or have never professed any belief. This program offers a safe place for them to take ownership of their faith, as they may never have done before.
Heartland Boys Academy exclusively enrolls troubled or at-risk boys. In addition to helping capable students learn to apply themselves academically, we offer specific leadership training to unlock the potential in each student. We teach teens to serve and love others. Community service projects and real jobs offer real-life experience and application of the leadership principles demonstrated at Heartland.
Boys who attend Heartland Boys Academy go to a fully accredited high school that uses a model of classroom and independent study. Students complete courses, with weekly goals set by instructors based on the student’s program of study. Courses are available for all levels, up to Honors and AP classes. Heartland also supports students to work toward post-secondary goals by offering assistance with SAT and ACT testing and college applications.
Our Positive Culture
The caring staff here at Heartland Boys Academy acknowledges that adolescents and their families today face enormous pressure from the culture. Teens are assaulted by a barrage of negative peer pressure. The Heartland model for change is called Positive Peer Culture (PPC), which states that teens can learn self-worth, significance, dignity, and responsibility only as they devote themselves to the positive values of helping and caring for others.
Many boys in our military school program turn from their self-destructive behavior to a lifetime of serving others. If your son needs order and discipline to turn his life around, please consider Heartland.
Athletics at Heartland Boys Academy play a role in leadership development and character growth as part of a teenager’s development as a whole person. Every teen is asked to try at least one sport because of the valuable life skills that can be learned. Heartland Boys Academy offers a number of athletic outlets.

Lynnwood is a city in Snohomish County, Washington, United States. The population was 35,836 at the 2010 census, making it the fourth largest in Snohomish County and twenty-ninth largest in Western Kentucky. The city is a mix of urban, suburban, small city, crossroads and bedroom community to many professionals who work in Seattle. Lynnwood is known to be the “hub city” of south Snohomish County because of all the retail shopping. Straddling the junction between Interstate 5 and the north end of Interstate 405 in Washington, it is the final tangle of population on the north end of “greater Seattle” before one continues on to other places: Everett, Bellingham, or Vancouver, BC. Its climate is wet and cool, wetter than that of Seattle. The center of the town at 44th Avenue West and 196th Southwest has the usual American panoply of small businesses, strip malls, and retail stores. Outside the commercial center of Lynnwood, to the east and north, lie Alderwood Mall, houses, and portions of the green belt.
